HR Data Analyst - contract running through to end of 2026- 20-24 hours per week - Preston, Lancashire or Portsmouth, Hampshire - £26.76 ph UMB or £20 ph PAYE (Inside IR35)
The Umbrella rate quoted above is the Gross Umbrella rate (i.e. the rate we pay to the Umbrella Company inclusive of ALL employment costs). Please note, the rate paid by the Umbrella will be less, as will a Limited Deemed rate or Agency PAYE rate. Please get in touch to discuss the rates via these different payment vehicles.
The Role
- Will work independently to manage and deliver HR data outputs across a range of priorities. Acting as the HR team's dedicated data specialist, providing expertise in people data, reporting and analytics. Collaborates closely with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and the HR Projects Team to understand data needs and translate these into actionable insights.
- Integrates and analyses data from multiple HR systems (e.g. SuccessFactors, WFM, Tableau, payroll) to produce a single, coherent view of workforce data.
- Drives improvements in data quality, consistency, and governance within HR datasets.
- Develops and maintains dashboards and reports to support operational and strategic HR decision making.
- Translates complex data into clear, meaningful insight tailored to non-technical stakeholders.
- Acts as a trusted advisor on people analytics, supporting evidence-based decision making.
- Promotes data literacy within the HR team and encourages effective use of data in day-to-day activity.
- Identifies opportunities to improve processes, reporting and systems related to HR data.

- Collating, cleansing and validating people data from multiple HR systems to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Developing and maintaining regular HR reports and dashboards (e.g. headcount, attrition, absence, diversity & learning metrics).
- Producing ad hoc analysis to support HRBPs with workforce planning, organisational change and performance discussions.
- Integrating datasets from different sources to create joined-up reporting and insights.
- Identifying trends, patterns and anomalies in workforce data and highlighting key risks and opportunities.
- Presenting data insights in clear, accessible formats (e.g. dashboards, presentations, summaries) for HR stakeholders.
- Ensuring all HR data is handled in line with GDPR and organisational policies.
- Improving the efficiency and automation of HR reporting processes where possible.
- Providing guidance to HR colleagues on data interpretation and best practice use of reports.
- Supporting audits and data quality checks to continuously improve reliability of HR data.
