Our client, a leading engineering business in the nuclear sector, is currently seeking a Software Commissioning Team Leader to join their team on a contract basis within the nuclear sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise onsite commissioning activities to ensure safe, compliant and accurate testing
- Review commissioning documentation and Safe System of Work for suitability
- Ensure compliance with commissioning document and Safe System of Work by all involved
- Work according to approved commissioning procedures and Safe Systems of Work, coordinating with other parties and attending site planning meetings
- Manage the application, recording, monitoring, and removal of Temporary Commissioning Aids
- Raise commissioning reservations and seek guidance when systems do not operate as expected or defects are found
- Halt commissioning activities and seek guidance in case of uncertainty
- Control situations and ensure safety in the event of incidents, preserving the scene for investigation
- Ensure final state of plant configuration post commissioning aligns with documentation or agreements
Job Requirements:
- Experience with Siemens PLC and SCADA systems
- Proficiency in control panels, electrical installation, and instrumentation solutions
- Essential experience in testing and on-site commissioning
- Excellent awareness of health and safety, with SSSTS or SMSTS preferred
- Holds an ECS card or equivalent
- Security Clearance (SC) required
Desirable Experience:
- Knowledge of drives, plant historians, and network design and configuration
- Understanding of cyber security and functional safety
- Familiarity with industrial protocols such as IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, OPC, etc.
