Quality Manager (Mechanical) - Data Centre Project (Skellefteå, Sweden)

We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager (Mechanical) to join our project team in Skellefteå, Sweden. In this critical role, you will lead the mechanical quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) strategy, ensuring that all installations are delivered to the highest standards of technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and project specification.
Key Responsibilities
You will take full ownership of the mechanical quality lifecycle, working closely with construction teams and subcontractors to drive superior project outcomes:
QA/QC Leadership: Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific quality management plans, ensuring all processes are followed throughout the project lifecycle.
Technical Compliance: Verify that all mechanical installations-including HVAC, piping, and associated services-align strictly with project specifications, drawings, and industry standards.
Inspections & Testing: Lead rigorous inspections of mechanical systems and oversee the approval of method statements, inspection test plans (ITPs), and technical submittals.
Subcontractor Oversight: Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure consistent adherence to quality standards and provide technical guidance where necessary.
Non-Conformance Management: Take a proactive approach to managing non-conformances (NCRs), conducting root cause analysis, and implementing effective corrective actions.
Documentation Governance: Maintain robust QA/QC documentation, including inspection records, test reports, and quality audits, ensuring full traceability.
Stakeholder Engagement: Chair and participate in quality meetings, site briefings, and engineering reviews to ensure alignment across all project teams.
Commissioning Support: Ensure that all quality documentation is completed and compliant to facilitate a seamless transition to the commissioning phase.
Process Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement, identifying and resolving technical and coordination issues before they impact project delivery.
Candidate Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience: A minimum of 7+ years of experience in QA/QC within the mechanical construction sector, with a proven focus on leadership.
Technical Knowledge: Extensive experience with complex mechanical systems (HVAC, piping) and a strong understanding of quality management systems and best practices.
Project Expertise: Demonstrated experience managing QA/QC processes on large-scale construction projects; experience with data centres or mission-critical facilities is highly advantageous.
Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex project requirements.
