Our client, a leading entity within the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking two highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineers to join their esteemed Submarine Solutions team on a contract basis. These roles are pivotal within the organisation's engineering projects, with one position based in Sheffield and the other in Barrow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading mechanical engineering projects associated with submarine solutions
  • Designing, developing, and testing mechanical components and systems
  • Ensuring compliance with defence and security standards and regulations
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems
  • Providing technical expertise and guidance for complex engineering challenges
  • Conducting performance analysis and risk assessments
  • Preparing technical documentation and reports
  • Mentoring junior engineers and supporting their development

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in mechanical engineering within the defence or security sectors
  • Strong background in designing and developing mechanical systems
  • Proficiency in industry-standard mechanical engineering software
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and safety standards
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification
  • BPSS & SC clearance (Sheffield), BPSS & Full SC (Barrow)

Contract Details:

  • 12-month contract
  • 37 hours per week
  • 2-3 days per week in the office
  • Based in Sheffield and Barrow
