Our client in the Technology sector is currently seeking a skilled Senior IT Project Manager to join their team on a 12-month contract. this role will involve a hybrid working model, spending 2-3 days per week in the office. This position is critical to the success of the mobilising programme and requires a disciplined, tech-savvy, and proactive individual.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver projects across workstreams within fixed timelines.
  • Support and drive projects through the lifecycle, from definition to close, including schedule, budget, resource, quality, risks, issues, change, and stakeholders.
  • Utilise standard project management products for project delivery, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Assist the Programme Director in programme-level planning, reporting, and governance.
  • Ensure quality of detailed plans and manage the delivery of these plans across projects and workstreams.
  • Govern project delivery, including stakeholder reporting, change management, and issue resolution.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors to ensure successful project execution.

Job Requirements:

  • Significant experience in senior project management, particularly in client-facing projects within IT, software development, consulting, or professional services.
  • Experience managing large, complex plans with multiple critical paths.
  • Proficiency in agile, scrum, and waterfall methodologies, with the ability to tailor approaches as needed.
  • Knowledge of the Public Sector technology programmes.
  • Experience in managing Service Delivery Projects in a cloud environment.
  • Proficient in project delivery methodology, including planning, scope and change management, governance, and RAID management.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Smartsheet or MS Project.
  • Strong written, oral, comprehension, and presentation skills.

Technical Skills/Knowledge:

  • Good knowledge of IT systems, software development, and hardware architecture.
  • Intermediate/Advanced proficiency in Smartsheet and MS Project.
  • Intermediate in MS Excel, including knowledge of macros and Pivot tables.
  • Intermediate in MS PowerPoint.
  • Some experience using Jira KANBAN or other digital KANBAN tools.
  • Familiarity with software, integration, and hosting technologies, particularly Azure and IaaS virtualized environments.

Qualifications/Certifications:

  • Desirable - Degree Educated, preferably in a technical subject.
  • Essential - Practitioner in a recognised PM qualification or accrediting body (PRINCE2, APM, PMI).
  • Desirable - Certified SCRUM Master.
