Our client, is currently seeking a Tax Compliance Accountant to join their team. This is a hybrid role, offering the flexibility to work from either their Yeovil or Edinburgh locations. This permanent position involves supporting corporate tax compliance for the main UK legal entity and its subsidiaries, with extensive interaction across UK and Italian divisions and with external advisors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collating information from divisional SAP systems and performing detailed analysis for corporate tax returns including UK, overseas branches, and Permanent Establishments.
  • Extraction and analysis of data for the annual Research & Development Expenditure Credit (RDEC) and Patent Box claim.
  • Ensuring timely Corporate Income Tax payments and managing the posting of journals and reconciliations of tax accounts by reporting deadlines.
  • Supporting the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions and inputting into Hyperion Financial Management.
  • Assisting with the preparation of documentation to support Senior Accounting Officer requirements and audit requests.
  • Providing and maintaining the annual UK Transfer Pricing report and documentation, and complying with Controlled Foreign Companies and Country by Country Reporting requirements.
  • Offering technical tax advice at the bid stage and supporting other departments on relevant matters.
  • Supporting the internal forecasting process and minimising exposure to penalties arising from late returns or audits.

Job Requirements:

  • Professionally qualified or part qualified compliance specialist with relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in IT with experience of SAP/ERP or equivalent systems.
  • Significant attention to detail and strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Experience in UK corporate tax, reporting and forecasting.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multi-task.
  • A flexible working style and a motivated team player willing to be hands-on.
