The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Mechanical Project Manager to join their Operations team in Dublin. In this role, you will take full ownership of the mechanical packages on site, leading projects from initial start-up through to final handover to ensure they are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership: Lead project start-up meetings and manage all mechanical aspects of the build, driving delivery to meet both timeline and budget constraints.
Technical Oversight: Thoroughly review and familiarise yourself with all design specifications, drawings, and technical details.
Technical Submittals: Collate, issue, and rigorously track technical submittals through to final approval.
Labour & Resource Tracking: Monitor and manage labour trackers on site to ensure optimal productivity.
Progress Reporting: Maintain detailed weekly progress reports, actively identifying, managing, and reporting any scope variations or changes.
Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the key point of contact on site, building strong relationships with main contractors, subcontractors, and the client's site-based team.
Logistics & Procurement: Oversee the coordination, delivery, and installation of major project plant, equipment, and bulk materials to ensure zero downtime on site.
Commissioning & Handover: Establish detailed construction and commissioning programmes, execute the commissioning plan on site, and manage our client's structured handover process.
Systems Management: Maintain and update all required records within the company's internal Document Management System.
Subcontractor Management: Hold regular progress meetings with subcontractors to resolve queries and ensure delivery milestones are met.
Innovation & R&D: Identify and communicate any innovative, project-specific engineering methods to the Contracts Manager.
Candidate Profile
Experience & Qualifications:
Extensive experience working as a Mechanical Project Manager (or in a similar senior capacity) within building services contracting.
A proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale, complex engineering or construction projects.
A formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or Project Management is highly preferred.
Demonstrated experience in supervising, mentoring, and coordinating site-based teams and subcontractors.
Strong technical acumen with the ability to interpret complex mechanical drawings and specifications.
Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
