Electrical CAD Engineer
Initial 12-month contract
3 days p/w in Oakdale (rest remote)
£425pd, Umbrella, inside IR35

Our client, a leading name in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a talented Electrical CAD Engineer for a contract role. This exciting opportunity will see you join the Design Team of the SV Programme and Wheeled vehicles, where your contribution will emphasise safety, cost-efficiency, and ease of manufacture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce design solutions including concepts, packaging, and platform installation design
- Maintain the integrity of the design solution, ensuring safety
- Support the design process throughout the project lifecycle
- Align CAD to BoM at Platform Level
- Manage BoM at platform level
- Implement Engineering Design Changes
- Ensure installation design solutions fulfil vehicle requirements
- Prepare material for internal and external design reviews
- Communicate design options and constraints effectively to the Lead Engineer
Job Requirements:
- Experience in electrical engineering and design, particularly within the defence sector
- Proficient in CAD software, ideally Pro Engineer Wildfire4/Creo/Creo 3
- Proficient user of Windchill PDMLink
- Experience in the design and development of mechanical components and systems
- Ability to produce detailed design drawings
- Strong understanding of BoM management and maintenance
- Experience with military vehicle design (desirable)
- Understanding of standards related to defence work, such as Defence Standards (desirable)
