Offshore Structures Transportation & Installation Lead
Our client in the renewables sector is currently seeking an Offshore Structures Transportation & Installation Lead to join their dynamic team on a permanent basis. This opportunity is available in Bristol or London, and it's a unique role aimed at driving the offshore execution of the energy transition through leadership in transport and installation (T&I) for major offshore wind projects.
Key Responsibilities:
T&I Strategy & Planning
- Develop and lead the Transport & Installation (T&I) strategy for offshore wind projects.
- Define installation methodologies for WTG foundations, offshore substations, and subsea cables.
- Manage installation schedules, sequences, and marine logistics.
Engineering & Technical Oversight
- Oversee T&I engineering deliverables including lift studies, rigging design, and sea fastening.
- Align with structural design, geotechnical, and cable engineering teams.
- Review and approve contractor T&I engineering documentation.
Marine Operations & Execution
- Lead planning and readiness for offshore campaigns.
- Assess vessel selection and port logistics.
- Provide technical support during offshore operations.
Contractor & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary interface for T&I contractors and stakeholders.
- Support procurement activities including preparation of T&I scopes of work.
- Engage with certification bodies and regulators to ensure compliance.
Risk, Safety & Assurance
- Lead HSE-by-design approach for all T&I activities.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Develop ALARP installation solutions.
Job Requirements:
- Significant experience in offshore windfarm T&I strategies and execution.
- In-depth knowledge of marine operations, vessel suitability, and offshore installation procedures.
- Strong technical oversight skills including engineering deliverables and alignment.
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
- Understanding of HSE practices and compliance with industry standards.
- Capability to manage complex project interfaces efficiently and cost-effectively.
