Our client, a prominent player within the data centre sector, is currently seeking a knowledgeable and proactive EHS Advisor to join their project team based in Blyth, England. The successful applicant will play a key role in supporting the delivery of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) objectives on site, ensuring compliance with pertinent legislation, and promoting a positive safety-first culture throughout the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementing and monitoring Environmental, Health & Safety policies, procedures, and standards across the project.
  • Conducting routine site inspections and audits to ensure health and safety compliance and identify potential risks.
  • Supporting the preparation and review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Monitoring subcontractor activities to ensure safe working practices and EHS compliance.
  • Participating in incident and accident investigations, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Promoting a positive safety culture through active engagement with site personnel, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Delivering site inductions, toolbox talks, and other safety initiatives as needed.
  • Maintaining accurate EHS records and compliance registers.
  • Attending and contributing to site coordination, safety meetings, and toolbox talks.
  • Assisting with the compilation of EHS reports, statistics, and key performance indicators.
  • Providing practical health and safety guidance to project teams in compliance with statutory and company requirements.
  • Supporting the delivery of environmental and sustainability objectives across the project.
  • Identifying potential EHS concerns and supporting the implementation of solutions.

Job Requirements:

  • Qualifications in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in an EHS position within the construction, engineering, or related sectors.
  • Understanding of current health and safety legislation, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
  • Experience supporting EHS activities on active construction projects.
  • Strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with site teams and promote safe behaviours.
  • Analytical skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Experience working on data centre, industrial, or other mission-critical projects is advantageous.
