Lead / Launch Engineers - Multiple Commodity Areas

Warwick / Solihull 6 Month Contract (Outside IR35 ) £33-35 per hour

About the Role

We are supporting a major vehicle launch programme and are seeking experienced Launch Engineers and Lead Engineers across multiple vehicle systems and commodity groups.

These positions will play a key role in supporting the introduction of new vehicle programmes from build through to launch, ensuring manufacturing readiness, quality performance and issue resolution across the programme.

Successful candidates will work closely with cross-functional engineering, quality and manufacturing teams to drive problem resolution, manage risks and support controlled build activities through launch.

  • Brakes
  • Axles
  • Wheels & Tyres

Key Responsibilities

  • Support vehicle launch and controlled build activities
  • Drive issue identification, containment and resolution activities
  • Analyse manufacturing and technical data to identify trends and quality concerns
  • Conduct root cause analysis using recognised problem-solving methodologies
  • Manage risk registers and support DFMEA / PFMEA activities
  • Escalate critical launch issues and drive closure plans
  • Support manufacturing readiness and process improvement initiatives
  • Capture lessons learned and implement corrective actions
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, quality, manufacturing and programme teams
  • Provide regular programme updates against agreed KPIs

Required Experience

Candidates should have experience in some or all of the following:

  • Automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier environment
  • Vehicle launch, manufacturing or programme support activities
  • Quality engineering or launch quality processes
  • Problem solving methodologies including:
    • 8D
    • 5 Whys
    • Fishbone Analysis
    • DFMEA
    • PFMEA
    • Fault Tree Analysis
    • PDCA
  • Manufacturing process knowledge
  • Risk management and issue escalation
  • Interpretation of engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Additional Information

  • Based at Warwick with travel to Solihull as required
  • Initial 6-month contract with potential extension
  • Engineers will be required to complete an IR35 assessment before commencement at a small cost.
  • Successful candidates will undergo a criminal records check during onboarding
