Our client, a leading company in the aerospace sector, is searching for a highly skilled NPI Manufacturing Engineer to join their team in Fareham. This permanent, full-time role entails working onsite, providing impactful and energy-efficient solutions, thereby contributing to a sustainable future. The company's Aerospace business is renowned for its integrated fuel systems for aircraft and offers extensive testing facilities for various fuel types and conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end NPI activities using gated project frameworks (e.g., MRL, PPAP, AS9145, ProLaunch).
  • Develop and execute manufacturing plans, readiness reviews, and standard operating procedures.
  • Drive Design for Manufacturability & Assembly (DFMEA/PFMEA) reviews with engineering teams.
  • Define production process flow, routings, and required tooling/fixturing.
  • Support prototype builds, engineering trials, and qualification runs.
  • Create additive manufactured tooling, Poka Yoke fixturing, using CAD modelling.
  • Develop detailed manufacturing work instructions, standard work, and build documentation.
  • Perform tolerance analysis, process capability studies, and risk assessments (PFMEA).

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience in aerospace or a similarly regulated mechanical manufacturing environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
  • Demonstrated experience and involvement with NPI projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of manufacturing processes such as assembly and integration, fuel systems, and special processes (heat treatment, surface finishing, part marking, etc.).
  • Experience with automation, digital manufacturing, or Industry 4.0 technologies (e.g., AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
