Supplier Quality Professional - 12 month contract - Glascoed, Monmouthshire - £33.64 ph UMB or £25.07 ph PAYE (Inside IR35)
The Umbrella rate quoted above is the Gross Umbrella rate (i.e. the rate we pay to the Umbrella Company inclusive of ALL employment costs). The Role
Reporting to the Supplier Assurance Manager and working to the support the strategic aims of the Procurement Function and BAE Systems Defence Solutions Munitions business in introducing and assuring new and existing souces of supply.
Role Responsibilities:
Not limited to…
- Apply technical review to ensure Customer requirements are clear and acceptable for flow down to the supply chain.
- Assess supplier capability and capacity to meet flowed down contractual requirements.
- Support the wider procurement team through the assessment of supply chain options, the identification of capability gaps and ultimate on-boarding of new suppliers.
- Apply Advanced Product Quality Planning tools and techniques to supplier related change projects including but not limited to: Process Control Planning, PFMEA etc.
- Assess supplier First Article Inspection Reports
- Provide coaching to the supply chain in relevant tools and techniques e.g. APQP, to support supplier development and support the transfer of best practice across the supply chain
- Proactively engage across Land UK functions and with the wider BAE Systems business in the delivery of projects to ensure knowledge is effectively shared.
- Support cost reduction by facilitating increased throughput and reduced waste.
- Support 1st, 2nd and 3rd Party audits of the Procurement Function and Supply Chain as required.
- Promote safe practice in all supplier engagement.

- 5+ years in an engineering, production or quality related role

Security Requirements: SC
This role will require the person to hold full Security Clearance (SC) prior to working onsite. You will need to obtain a BPSS check as part of this process. You must currently hold or be eligible and willing to obtain SC and you must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship and have lived and worked in the UK for a minimum 5 year period.
