A successful manufacturing engineering business require a Buyer to join their Procurement team. The Buyer will be responsible for managing day-to-day purchasing activities, ensuring material availability, maintaining supplier relationships and supporting the efficient flow of materials across the business. The role will require use of MRP/ERP and MS Excel (proficiency with VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables and formulas preferred).

The Buyer will join a large and supportive procurement team enjoying a period of growth. Procurement activity will focus on direct commodity areas for manufacturing. The environment is fast-paced and dynamic, so the Buyer will collaborate closely with the supply chain to ensure continuity of supply to achieve production schedules.

Key Responsibilities of the Buyer include:

  • Raise and manage purchase orders in line with MRP demand.
  • Monitor supplier performance and expedite deliveries where required.
  • Build strong supplier relationships and support capacity planning.
  • Maintain ERP/MRP master data including lead times and batch sizes.
  • Resolve supply, delivery, invoicing and documentation issues.
  • Coordinate subcontract material movements and supplier activities.
  • Collaborate with Planning, Logistics, Engineering and Quality teams to drive supply chain performance.

Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Experience in a Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain or Planning role.
  • Good understanding of MRP/ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel - Ideally confidence with Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP and formulas
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
