SHEQ Divisional Director

Our client is seeking an experienced SHEQ Divisional Director to lead their safety, health, environment, and quality operations within the power utilities sector. This is a permanent position that involves overseeing major projects and DNO frameworks, with a focus on ensuring compliance and excellence in SHEQ standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing SHEQ strategies for the power division
  • Managing SHEQ activities across major projects and DNO frameworks
  • Reporting into the SHEQ Director and ensuring alignment with overall corporate objectives
  • Leading and mentoring a team of SHEQ professionals
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, particularly in projects ranging from 11kV to 132kV
  • Conducting regular audits and inspections to enforce SHEQ standards
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to promote a culture of safety and quality
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives in SHEQ practices

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in health & safety management, particularly within power utilities and distribution
  • Strong understanding of ICP and DNO operations
  • Proficiency in managing projects of capacities from 11kV to 132kV
  • NEBOSH Level 6 Diploma, minmum.
  • Bachelor or Masters in Occupational Health & Safety
  • TECHIOSH or CMIOSH - Desirable
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to develop and implement effective SHEQ strategies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of health, safety, environment, and quality
