Our client, an established leader in the highways sector, is currently seeking a Highway Quantity Surveyor (QS) on a contract basis to join their team. This office-based role requires a dedicated professional to manage the commercial aspects of highways projects from inception through to final account.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing project costs and budgets throughout the project lifecycle
  • Administering and managing NEC contracts
  • Preparing, reviewing and negotiating subcontractor packages
  • Producing valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts
  • Identifying, pricing, and managing compensation events and variations
  • Monitoring project performance and reporting on commercial progress
  • Working closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure successful project delivery
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams

Job Requirements:


To be considered for this Highways Quantity Surveyor position, you will have:

  • Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the highways sector
  • Strong working knowledge and practical experience of NEC contracts (essential)
  • Experience managing the commercial aspects of civil engineering or highways projects
  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • A full UK driving licence
