BAE Systems, a leading entity in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a skilled Senior Aerodynamicist to join their team in Brough. This is a contract position for a period of 12 months, requiring full-time onsite work within a 37-hour standard working week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading aerodynamic design and analysis efforts for defence-related projects.
- Developing and validating aerodynamic models.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimise aerodynamic performance.
- Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior aerodynamicists.
- Conducting wind tunnel testing and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations.
- Preparing detailed technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Participating in project planning and review meetings.
Job Requirements:
- Extensive experience in aerodynamics within the Defence & Security sector.
- Strong proficiency in aerodynamic design and analysis tools.
- Understanding of wind tunnel testing and CFD simulation techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to lead and mentor a team effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
