BAE Systems, a leading entity in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a skilled Senior Aerodynamicist to join their team in Brough. This is a contract position for a period of 12 months, requiring full-time onsite work within a 37-hour standard working week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading aerodynamic design and analysis efforts for defence-related projects.
  • Developing and validating aerodynamic models.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimise aerodynamic performance.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior aerodynamicists.
  • Conducting wind tunnel testing and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations.
  • Preparing detailed technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Participating in project planning and review meetings.

Job Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in aerodynamics within the Defence & Security sector.
  • Strong proficiency in aerodynamic design and analysis tools.
  • Understanding of wind tunnel testing and CFD simulation techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
