Role details:
Our client, a prominent entity in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking an Embedded Software V&V Engineer to join their team in Bristol on a contract basis. This role is essential in ensuring the next generation of missile systems meets the highest standards of performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verification and validation of real-time systems application software for missile systems
  • Developing robust test cases from requirements
  • Preparing and executing tests, capturing data, and providing actionable feedback
  • Utilising strong problem-solving skills and data acquisition expertise
  • Supporting the project teams with test results and validation insights

Job Requirements:


Essential:

  • Strong experience in V&V activities within an embedded software environment
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Good communication and documentation skills
  • Skilled in turning requirements into structured test cases and procedures
  • Experience working in a lab setting with electromechanical products running embedded software
  • Comprehensive understanding of the software engineering lifecycle
  • Scripting abilities
  • Proficiency in embedded software development using C/C++


Advantageous:

  • Knowledge of Real-Time Operating Systems and test automation methods
  • Familiarity with DOORS, Engineering Workflow Management (EWM), Rapita Suite, Rhapsody, and LDRA
  • Experience with safety-critical systems and standards such as DefStan 00-55, DO-178C & DO-330
  • Comfortable with Model Driven Design, Breakpoint Analysis, and Focused Code Reviews
