Role details:
Our client, a prominent entity in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking an Embedded Software V&V Engineer to join their team in Bristol on a contract basis. This role is essential in ensuring the next generation of missile systems meets the highest standards of performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verification and validation of real-time systems application software for missile systems
- Developing robust test cases from requirements
- Preparing and executing tests, capturing data, and providing actionable feedback
- Utilising strong problem-solving skills and data acquisition expertise
- Supporting the project teams with test results and validation insights
Job Requirements:
Essential:
- Strong experience in V&V activities within an embedded software environment
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Good communication and documentation skills
- Skilled in turning requirements into structured test cases and procedures
- Experience working in a lab setting with electromechanical products running embedded software
- Comprehensive understanding of the software engineering lifecycle
- Scripting abilities
- Proficiency in embedded software development using C/C++
Advantageous:
- Knowledge of Real-Time Operating Systems and test automation methods
- Familiarity with DOORS, Engineering Workflow Management (EWM), Rapita Suite, Rhapsody, and LDRA
- Experience with safety-critical systems and standards such as DefStan 00-55, DO-178C & DO-330
- Comfortable with Model Driven Design, Breakpoint Analysis, and Focused Code Reviews
