We are looking for an experienced Risk & Compliance Representative to join a high-profile UK Central Government programme. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in strengthening risk, compliance, and governance practices within a complex and fast-paced environment, supporting the successful delivery of critical public sector services.
As a subject matter expert within the Risk & Compliance function, you will work closely with multiple teams to drive compliance awareness, enhance risk management processes, and ensure adherence to organisational policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support service delivery through effective quality, risk, and compliance management.
  • Increase awareness and understanding of compliance policies, standards, and processes across the organisation.
  • Ensure teams adhere to established compliance frameworks, controls, and governance requirements.
  • Act as a Risk & Compliance SME, providing guidance, expertise, and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Lead and influence team decision-making relating to risk and compliance matters.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on compliance objectives and organisational priorities.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve compliance awareness and engagement.
  • Design and deliver regular compliance training and awareness sessions.
  • Analyse existing risk management processes and recommend enhancements to improve service delivery and operational effectiveness.
  • Monitor, measure, and report on compliance performance, metrics, and key risk indicators.
  • Identify compliance gaps and provide practical solutions that can be applied across multiple teams and business areas.
  • Contribute to key governance, risk, and compliance decisions within the programme.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Advanced experience in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM).
  • Strong background in quality, risk, and compliance management within complex organisations.
  • Experience developing and implementing compliance frameworks, processes, and controls.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and engage at all levels.
  • Experience delivering compliance training and awareness programmes.
  • Ability to analyse risks, identify trends, and recommend effective mitigation strategies.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Experience working across multiple teams and managing competing priorities.

Desirable Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of Policy Compliance.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Regulatory Compliance
    • Risk Management
    • Regulatory Compliance Management
  • Experience within government, regulated, or security-focused environments.
  • Cybersecurity Fundamentals (Advanced/P3).

Desirable Certifications


The following certifications would be advantageous, though are not required:

  • CIPM (Certified Information Privacy Manager)
  • CIPP
  • CIPT
