Forklift Driver
We're recruiting two experienced Forklift Drivers for a major refinery shutdown at Fawley Refinery, Southampton (SO45 1TX). To join the team, you must have previous industrial forklift operating experience, hold a valid CCNSG Safety Passport, possess Rough Terrain Masted certification, and be fully certified and eligible to operate a JCB 940 vertical-mast forklift.
⚠️ Start Date: 23/09/2026.
Our Forklift Driver will work on a 7-week assignment offering 60 hours per week.
The Role
Working as part of a refinery shutdown / turnaround team, duties will include:
- Operating a JCB 940 rough terrain vertical-mast forklift safely and efficiently across the refinery site
- Loading, unloading and transporting heavy materials, pipework, fittings and equipment on rough, uneven or muddy outdoor ground
- Supporting site logistics and material movements to work fronts
- Carrying out pre-use inspections and reporting defects
- Ensuring all lifting and transportation activities are completed in accordance with site procedures
- Working closely with supervisors, stores personnel and trades teams to ensure materials are available when required
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and safety at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience operating telehandlers or forklifts on industrial, refinery, petrochemical or shutdown projects
- Valid CCNSG Safety Passport (or equivalent)
- Valid Rough Terrain Telehandler certification (CPCS, NPORS or equivalent)
- Fully certified and eligible to operate a JCB 940 Telehandler
- Good understanding of site safety procedures and vehicle inspections
- Reliable, safety-conscious and able to work effectively within a busy shutdown environment
