Our client, a well-established engineering organisation, is seeking a Senior Civil Structural Engineer to join their team. This role involves delivering complex infrastructure projects across the rail and energy sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and delivery of civil and structural engineering projects from concept through to construction.
  • Undertake the design of rail ancillary structures and associated civil engineering assets.
  • Prepare and review calculations, technical reports, specifications, and engineering drawings.
  • Carry out structural analysis and design in accordance with relevant industry standards and client requirements.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Attend design reviews and contribute to value engineering and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support project planning, programme management, and resource allocation activities.

Job Requirements:


To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:

  • Degree qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Proven experience delivering civil and/or structural engineering designs.
  • Experience within rail infrastructure, civil engineering, or structural building design environments.
  • Strong understanding of structural analysis, design principles, and relevant UK design standards.
  • Experience using industry-standard structural design software.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage technical delivery on multiple projects.

  • Engineers with experience in rail infrastructure and ancillary civils design.
  • Structural Engineers from commercial building sectors, including offices, hotels, residential, industrial, and mixed-use developments.
  • Chartered Engineers (CEng) or individuals actively working towards chartership.
  • Engineers with experience mentoring junior team members and leading design packages.
