Information Assurance Consultant | Quality Assurance | Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery
We are seeking an experienced Information Assurance Consultant to support a major cybersecurity and assurance programme, ensuring that systems, processes, and services meet the highest standards of security, resilience, quality, and compliance.
This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with expertise in Information Assurance, Quality Assurance (QA), Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (BCDR), and Quality Management to contribute to the delivery of secure and resilient services within a complex and highly regulated environment.
Working closely with security teams, project stakeholders, testing teams, architects, and operational functions, you will play a critical role in ensuring governance, assurance, resilience, and quality standards are embedded across programmes and services.
The Role
As an Information Assurance Consultant, you will be responsible for assessing and improving assurance processes, supporting quality management activities, and helping ensure business continuity and resilience requirements are effectively implemented.
You will provide guidance on assurance frameworks, quality standards, risk management, and business continuity planning while supporting stakeholders in maintaining compliance and operational readiness.
This position is primarily remote, although candidates must be willing to attend client sites when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of Information Assurance frameworks, policies, and processes.
- Conduct assurance reviews to ensure systems, services, and projects align with organisational and regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance on quality assurance and quality management best practices.
- Support the planning, execution, and evaluation of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR) activities.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of business continuity plans and disaster recovery procedures.
- Monitor compliance with assurance, governance, and quality standards.
- Support risk assessments and identify areas for improvement across business and technology services.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure quality and resilience requirements are embedded throughout delivery lifecycles.
- Contribute to audit preparation, governance activities, and assurance reporting.
- Support testing and validation of continuity, recovery, and resilience plans.
- Produce clear documentation, reports, and recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Promote continuous improvement across assurance and quality management functions.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience working within Information Assurance, Governance, Risk & Compliance, or Quality Assurance environments.
- Strong understanding of Information Assurance principles and controls.
- Experience supporting or delivering Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Management activities.
- Experience developing, maintaining, or testing Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR) plans.
- Knowledge of risk management, compliance, and assurance frameworks.
- Experience conducting reviews, assessments, audits, or assurance activities.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to produce high-quality reports, documentation, and recommendations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience working within complex enterprise, government, or highly regulated environments.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within public sector, government, defence, or critical national infrastructure environments.
- Knowledge of security and governance frameworks such as:
- ISO 27001
- ISO 22301
- NIST
- ITIL
- Experience supporting resilience and operational risk programmes.
- Audit, compliance, or assurance certification experience.
- Consulting or client-facing delivery experience.
- Experience working within large-scale transformation programmes.
