Our client, is currently seeking a Principal Transport Planner to join their team on a contract basis. The position, based in Winchester, involves strategic transport planning, focusing on the delivery of high-quality strategic outputs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing experienced strategic transport planning support to the Area Strategy and Scheme Development Team
- Leading the development and delivery of transport scoping and strategies, Movement and Place Frameworks, and long-term transport planning studies
- Progressing priority strategic projects within the 2026/27 Transport Programme
- Offering specialist expertise and leadership in strategic transport planning
- Mentoring and coaching less experienced officers
- Collaborative project delivery to enhance team capability and expertise
- Delivering high-quality strategic outputs
Job Requirements:
- Extensive experience in transport planning
- Strong understanding of transportation and highways disciplines
- Proven ability in strategic project development and delivery
- Leadership skills and experience in mentoring and coaching
- Excellent communication and collaborative abilities
- Ability to commit to hybrid working, with attendance in the Winchester office every Monday
- Valid car driving licence (Category B)
