Our client, a leading company in the energy sector, is currently seeking a skilled Surveyor to join their Land, Planning and External Affairs department. This contract role is crucial in supporting the UK's ambition to achieve net zero by 2050, involving the development and delivery of new infrastructure projects across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver land rights and acquisitions for infrastructure projects, from development to construction stages.
- Implement National Grid's Land Rights Strategy in a transparent and consistent manner.
- Report on programme, key milestones, risks, and finances regularly to stakeholders.
- Manage and communicate with internal and external stakeholders effectively, ensuring clear articulation of complex issues.
- Support Senior Surveyors and Land Project Managers in project delivery.
- Provide technical advice to the National Grid Land Team and wider project team.
- Collate and verify data/evidence required for securing land rights.
- Facilitate project objectives through liaising with National Grid, external suppliers, and third parties.
- Produce documents to an appropriate standard for various purposes.
- Support and undertake valuations using a range of techniques and methodologies.
- Attend meetings and other forums as required.
Job Requirements:
- Education to degree/HND/HNC standard in a relevant surveying discipline and chartered status.
- Experience in undertaking complex and high-value negotiations within the utility sector.
- Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team and excellent communication skills.
- Conversant with the principles of valuation, having assisted in complex valuations.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Land rights surveying qualifications, preferably a Member of the RICS or similar.
- Relevant degree in surveying or a related field.
