Our client, a pivotal player in the nuclear sector, is currently seeking a Senior Planner (M&E) to join their team. This permanent role offers the opportunity to work on a prestigious project focused on MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation). As a senior member of the project controls team, you will be instrumental in driving the project from design through to installation, ensuring successful delivery and operations within the industry. This role irequires the individual to either already hold or be able to obtain security clearance (SC).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide planning management and support to both pre-contract and contract operations for the business
- Coordinate with design and construction teams to manage and control the planning and programming aspects of framework proposals and multiple projects in progress
- Produce, manage, update the design & construction programme and communicate to internal and external customers and major stakeholders
- Manage and incorporate change events into the design and construction programme jointly with the commercial team to secure full entitlement under the contract
- Track design deliverables, update procurement schedules, and monitor supply chain performance effectively
- Apply proficiency in Earned Value Management (EVM) for detailed reporting and programme acceptance
- Proactively use Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis (QSRA) and manage project risks
- Provide mentoring and coaching to assistant planners and planners
Job Requirements:
- Significant experience in programme and project management, and project planning including programme controls, project review, cost, and risk analysis
- Ability to plan design and construction works from first principles, with experience in multi-discipline major projects
- Extensive site experience on business-related projects in a management or supervisory capacity
- Proficiency in using Primavera P6 and understanding of 3D BIM models
- Experience with NEC and understanding of change management principles
- Good understanding of construction sequences and EPC/ECI projects
- Ability to liaise and challenge key delivery partners effectively
- Relevant degree or equivalent in a core business discipline
