We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join our clients procurement function on a contract basis. This role will be responsible for delivering strategic sourcing activities, managing complex procurement projects, and partnering with stakeholders to drive commercial value across a range of direct and indirect spend categories.
The successful candidate will bring strong category management, supplier management, and negotiation expertise, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and complex business environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver procurement plans aligned with business objectives and category strategies.
- Analyse market dynamics, supplier landscapes, and cost drivers to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Create and execute go-to-market sourcing strategies.
- Lead end-to-end tender and sourcing activities for high-value procurement projects.
- Deliver cost savings and value improvement initiatives across assigned categories.
- Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers to secure best value and favourable contractual terms.
- Work closely with Legal and business stakeholders on contract development and negotiation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation.
- Manage strategic supplier relationships, driving performance, innovation, and risk management.
- Support governance, compliance, and contract management processes.
- Provide procurement expertise and guidance to business stakeholders.
- Collaborate across the wider procurement team to deliver procurement best practice and continuous improvement.
Skills & Experience
- Demonstrable procurement experience within a complex commercial environment.
- Strong end-to-end sourcing and category management experience.
- Proven track record of leading competitive tender processes.
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
- Experience managing supplier relationships and supplier performance.
- Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent project management and organisational skills.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of procurement methodologies, including category management and strategic sourcing.
- Experience working across both direct and indirect spend categories is desirable.
Qualifications
- MCIPS qualified, working towards MCIPS, or equivalent procurement experience.
- Degree educated or equivalent experience preferred.
