Our client, a pivotal player in the rail industry, is currently seeking a Contractor's Engineering Manager (CEM) to join their projects team on a contract basis. This role involves working on significant Network Rail projects and provides an opportunity to deliver impactful work within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing engineering activities to ensure they meet Network Rail standards
- Managing and coordinating the engineering aspects of construction projects
- Providing technical guidance and support across various projects
- Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards
- Coordinating with project teams to accomplish construction goals with contractors, designers and stakeholders
- Identifying potential technical issues and implementing effective solutions
- Manage technical risk, change an engineering issues
- Maintaining detailed records and documentation throughout the project lifecycle
- Fostering a strong safety culture within the engineering team
Job Requirements:
- Experience as a Contractor's Engineering Manager (CEM) in the rail sector
- Background in civil engineering, with a strong understanding of construction processes
- Experience with Network Rail standards and requirements
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Proven ability to manage engineering projects from inception to completion
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Understanding of IR35 regulations
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related discipline
