Our client, a renowned consultancy in the water sector, is currently seeking a Design Manager with a focus on civil engineering to join their team in Newcastle on a contract basis. This role involves secondments into Stantec, working on both infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects, and operates inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading design management for water-related projects, ensuring high-quality outputs
- Coordinating with project teams to deliver design solutions that meet client requirements
- Managing project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively
- Providing technical oversight and guidance to design engineers
- Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
- Conducting design reviews and making necessary adjustments to meet project objectives
- Maintaining strong communication with stakeholders, including clients and contractors
- Preparing detailed design documentation and reports
Job Requirements:
- Experience in civil engineering within the water sector
- Proven ability to manage design projects from inception to completion
- Strong knowledge of design principles, industry standards, and regulations
- Excellent project management and organisational skills
- Ability to provide technical leadership and guidance
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification
