Our client, a specialist consultancy in the highways sector, is currently seeking a Senior ITS Engineer to join their team on a contract basis, based in either Manchester or Birmingham. This role involves hands-on design work, directly supporting National Highways as well as assisting other consultancies and contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and implementing Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) design projects
- Collaborating with National Highways and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality ITS solutions
- Providing technical expertise and innovative design solutions for a variety of highways projects
- Ensuring projects meet industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Mentoring and supporting junior engineers within the team
- Conducting site assessments and collecting necessary data
- Preparing and reviewing technical documentation and reports
- Maintaining effective communication with clients and project teams
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience in ITS engineering, particularly within the highways sector
- In-depth knowledge of ITS design principles and relevant technologies
- Demonstrated ability to oversee and execute complex design projects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with relevant software and tools used in ITS design
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Engineering degree or equivalent qualification in a related field
