Associate / Principal Civil Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: £60,000+ (dependent on UK experience)

An ambitious and growing consultancy is seeking an experienced Associate / Principal Civil Infrastructure Engineer to take a leading role within the business. This position offers a varied workload across a broad range of development and infrastructure projects, with involvement in both technical delivery and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of a diverse portfolio of civil engineering projects across varying scales and sectors.
  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, supporting their professional development.
  • Take responsibility for key client accounts and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Contribute to business growth through effective project delivery and client management.
  • Monitor and achieve team and project KPIs.
  • Support Directors with strategic planning, resource management, and business development initiatives.
  • Provide technical oversight and quality assurance across project outputs.

Requirements

  • Significant UK civil engineering design experience within a consultancy environment.
  • Experience delivering a variety of projects with differing scales, complexity, and sectors.
  • Proven management experience, including team leadership, staff development, and performance management.
  • Strong client-facing skills with experience managing key accounts.
  • Chartered Engineer status preferred:
    • CEng MICE, CMIHT, or equivalent.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project performance metrics.

Technical Skills

  • Autodesk Civil 3D.
  • Autodesk InfoDrainage (Inflow).
  • Causeway Flow.
  • Autodesk AutoCAD (advanced/expert level).
  • Microsoft Outlook.
  • Mail Manager.

Ideal Background

Candidates should have remained actively involved in civil engineering design and project delivery. The client is particularly interested in individuals with recent hands-on design experience and leadership responsibilities within a consultancy environment.
