Our client, is seeking an experienced Interim Streetworks Officer to support its Network Regulation Team in Hereford. This contract role offers an opportunity to contribute to statutory streetworks functions, network management and compliance across the county. Hybrid working is available, with attendance at the Hereford office required one day per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) functions and associated statutory obligations
- Assist with compliance under the Network Management Duty of the Traffic Management Act 2004 and related legislation
- Support workforce compliance with streetworks legislation and relevant safety, health, environmental and sustainability requirements
- Coordinate and monitor streetworks activities across the highway network
- Support streetworks permitting, coordination and compliance processes
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, utility companies, contractors and other stakeholders
- Help minimise disruption to the highway network while maintaining statutory compliance
- Manage competing priorities and provide updates to relevant team members and stakeholders
Job Requirements:
- Experience in streetworks, network management or a related highways environment
- Strong knowledge of the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA), Traffic Management Act 2004 and associated regulations
- Understanding of streetworks permitting, coordination and compliance activities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and organise competing priorities effectively
- Awareness of highway network management principles and statutory responsibilities
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
Working Arrangements:
- Interim contract with an initial six-month assignment
- Hybrid working available
- Attendance at the Hereford-based office required one day per week
