The Opportunity


We're recruiting for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join a high-profile technology programme with one of the world's leading financial services organisations.
You'll become part of a fast-paced Software Engineering team, working within a critical delivery unit responsible for driving infrastructure improvements, automation initiatives, and cloud-based deployment capabilities across enterprise-scale environments.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on DevOps professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, improving operational resilience, and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams in a highly regulated and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities


As a DevOps Engineer, you will:

  • Build, maintain and enhance development tools, platforms and infrastructure.
  • Design, develop and support CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery.
  • Drive infrastructure automation initiatives to improve deployment efficiency, consistency and reliability.
  • Work closely with engineering, operations and security teams to resolve complex infrastructure and deployment challenges.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively implement improvements to enhance scalability, resilience and security.
  • Support cloud-based environments and containerised applications.
  • Contribute to infrastructure design decisions, technical roadmaps and deployment strategies.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance, sharing DevOps best practices across teams.
  • Ensure environments remain secure, compliant and operationally resilient.
  • Support incident management activities and assist with root cause analysis and service restoration.

Required Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Strong experience working as a DevOps Engineer in enterprise environments.
  • Advanced experience in Infrastructure Service Incident Management.
  • Proven expertise designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and deployment tooling.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud technologies and modern DevOps practices.
  • Experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex production and infrastructure issues.
  • Experience collaborating across multiple technical teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of security principles within DevOps environments.

Desirable

  • Experience with SRE Observability tools and practices.
  • Knowledge of Configuration & Release Management processes.
  • Experience with Cloud Automation DevOps frameworks and tooling.
  • Previous experience within financial services or other highly regulated environments.
