Our client is seeking a Senior Electrical Designer for a contract opportunity within the nuclear sector, supporting a major uranium enrichment project from its Manchester office.

  • Developing safe, practical and economical electrical designs to a high professional standard
  • Producing drawing office deliverables, including single-line diagrams, cable schedules, material take-offs and block cable diagrams
  • Preparing schematics, equipment layouts and cable routing layouts
  • Checking drawings in accordance with established company procedures
  • Working closely with other engineering disciplines to coordinate design activities
  • Creating and reviewing 3D models using Navisworks, AVEVA E3D, Revit and related design software
  • Ensuring designs comply with relevant project, safety, installation and quality requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Significant electrical design experience within the nuclear, engineering or a similar regulated sector
  • Strong knowledge of electrical design working practices and installation requirements
  • Good understanding of low-voltage electrical design principles
  • Proficiency in CAD, with experience in 3D modelling highly desirable
  • Knowledge of UK legislation, industry standards and nuclear-sector requirements
  • ONC, OND, HNC, HND or an equivalent electrical engineering qualification
  • Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with colleagues and project stakeholders
  • A safety-focused and customer-focused approach, with risk management at the forefront of design activities
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance
