The Opportunity
The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for delivering critical sub-systems from external suppliers into a complex defence system. These sub-systems incorporate high-power optical technologies alongside sophisticated electro-optical and mechanical assemblies which form part of a larger integrated capability.
Reporting to a Chief Systems Engineer, the role will focus on supplier management, technical acceptance, integration, assembly and testing activities. Previous experience of delivering and integrating complex sub-systems would be beneficial, alongside an understanding of electro-optical, mechanical or high-technology engineering systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing technical and programme interfaces with external suppliers.
- Supporting the acceptance, delivery and integration of critical sub-systems into the wider system architecture.
- Coordinating functional integration activities across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Contributing to ongoing capability development and technology maturation initiatives.
- Supporting system assembly, integration, verification and testing activities.
What We're Looking For

- Managing third-party suppliers and defining technical statements of work and deliverables.
- Building strong stakeholder relationships across engineering, project and supplier teams.
- Leading technical work packages and balancing technical risks, cost and schedule considerations.
- Supporting complex system integration and delivery activities within a multidisciplinary environment.
- Working within systems engineering frameworks throughout the project lifecycle.
