Our tier 1 contractor client is seeking a Senior Planner who will be London based supporting infrastructure projects on a permanent basis.
Hybrid working will be available (2 or 3 office days a week) but the candidate must be open to commuting to end client sites across London. Our clients' main office is in London Victoria SW1H 0HW
This position will report to the Planning Manager, who you will be working with to plan, monitor and control programme schedules. In addition, there will also be requirement to work with the project delivery teams to develop and update the project programme, ensuring cost and resource profiles are up-to-date.
This role will be key to the growth strategy of this business division in London working with an existing team of 8 that manage end clients.
Your key responsibility will be to ensure the project programmes are updated in a timely manner, liaising with the team and key stakeholders from the Client & Subcontractor to effectively monitor & control the project schedule.
The successful candidate will have to demonstrate effective time management, proactive attitude, and effective facilitating skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, Monitor and Control the programme schedule from Contract Award to Contract Completion
- Conduct regular programme and progress meetings to ensure the programme schedule is being proactively updated
- Enact Earned Value Analysis (in particular SPI) to ensure the programme is moving in line with projected timelines
- Ensure accurate and timely planning, including progress reporting, effective measurement of key dates, milestones and critical path analysis
- Drive Collaborative Planning charts to micro monitor programme changes
- Identify and input change control events into the programme and produce resultant programmes to demonstrate changes in the key milestones
- Conduct workshops to mitigate programme slippage
Skills/experience/qualifications
- Proficient P6 Primavera user (*Primavera P6 experience is a must for the role)
- Microsoft Project user
- Proficient Microsoft Office Skills
