Our client, a specialist consultancy in the highways and transport planning sector, is seeking a Development Planning Highway Technician to support development planning projects on a contract basis. The role will focus on producing accurate technical drawings and CAD documentation for highway and infrastructure schemes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing highway and transport-related drawings using CAD software
- Supporting development planning and infrastructure design projects
- Producing detailed technical plans, layouts and associated documentation
- Working from engineers' designs, technical information and project specifications
- Updating drawings in line with design changes and client requirements
- Collaborating with engineers, transport planners and project teams
- Ensuring drawings are accurate, clearly presented and compliant with relevant standards
Job Requirements:
- Experience working as a Highway Technician, CAD Technician or similar role within the highways sector
- Strong knowledge of highway design and development planning principles
- Proficiency in CAD software and the production of technical drawings
- Understanding of highway layouts, access arrangements and infrastructure plans
- Good attention to detail and the ability to interpret technical information
- Effective communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a project team
