Our client is seeking an experienced NEC Supervisor to support the delivery of a high-profile rail infrastructure programme in Southern Ireland. This contract opportunity is suited to a proactive rail civils professional with strong NEC4 knowledge and experience supervising construction works within a live operational railway environment.
Working alongside contractors, designers, project managers and key stakeholders, you will help ensure that works are delivered safely, to the required quality standards and in accordance with contract requirements and project objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake the duties of NEC Supervisor in accordance with the NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC)
  • Monitor and inspect rail civils works to verify compliance with Works Information, specifications, drawings and contract requirements
  • Identify and notify Defects in line with NEC contractual procedures
  • Maintain accurate inspection, surveillance and quality assurance records
  • Review contractor quality documentation, inspection and test plans (ITPs) and associated submissions
  • Attend site inspections, progress meetings and quality review meetings
  • Liaise with the Client, Project Manager, Contractor and stakeholders on quality, compliance and technical matters
  • Support project governance, reporting and corrective action processes
  • Ensure works are delivered safely within a live railway environment and in accordance with project safety standards
  • Prepare clear and timely reports on construction quality, compliance issues and remedial actions

Job Requirements:

  • Qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Rail Engineering or a related discipline
  • NEC4 Supervisor accreditation or demonstrable experience performing the NEC Supervisor role on major infrastructure projects
  • Significant experience in rail, transportation or major infrastructure construction
  • Strong knowledge of NEC ECC contracts and contract administration processes
  • Experience supervising civils works within a live operational environment, ideally within rail infrastructure
  • Knowledge of construction quality management systems, inspections and testing processes
  • Rail civils supervisory experience and a strong understanding of railway safety requirements
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, reporting and problem-solving skills
  • Confidence to challenge construction methods, quality standards and contractor submissions where required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital project management platforms

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience working on Irish Rail, light rail, transport or major civil engineering projects
  • Familiarity with Common Data Environments (CDE), BIM processes and digital collaboration platforms
  • Membership of a relevant professional institution, such as Engineers Ireland, ICE, CIOB or equivalent
  • Experience working in safety-critical environments
