We're recruiting for an SC-cleared Mechanical, Electrical or EC&I Engineer with strong requirements capture experience. You'll work alongside Project Managers and Engineering leads to ensure Systems Engineering methods, tools and processes are used effectively to capture, manage and assure technical requirements across the project lifecycle.

What you'll be doing

  • Capture, analyse and translate stakeholder needs into clear, structured technical requirements.
  • Plan and deliver requirements activities to agreed objectives, controlling quality, cost and schedule for your work.
  • Produce requirements artefacts (including Use Cases and applied modelling outputs such as context diagrams where appropriate).
  • Support requirements derivation, interface definition, and system specification activities across multi-discipline teams.
  • Support verification & validation planning: helping define V&V events, test cases, test plans and supporting documentation to enable integration and assurance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of requirements / systems engineering processes (aligned to INCOSE best practice).
  • Support internal/external reviews with clear written reports and verbal briefings.
  • Promote high standards in safety, security, quality and confidentiality.

What we're looking for (essential)

  • Engineering background in Mechanical, Electrical, or EC&I (degree-level or equivalent practical experience).
  • SC clearance.
  • Demonstrable experience in requirements capture / requirements engineering within complex engineering environments.
  • Ability to elicit requirements from stakeholders and produce clear, testable requirements and supporting documentation.
  • Experience contributing to system design/specification, including interfaces.
  • Strong organisation skills, attention to detail, and ability to deliver to deadlines.
  • Confident communicator-able to engage stakeholders at all levels and present technical information clearly.
  • Competent with MS Office and producing high-quality engineering documentation.

Desirable

  • Exposure to DOORS (or similar requirements management tools).
  • Understanding of the UK nuclear industry / regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001.
  • Professional body membership and/or IOSH Managing Safely
  • Familiarity with modelling techniques (Use Cases, context diagrams, etc.).
