Our client, a leading firm in the Transmission and Distribution (T & D) sector, is currently seeking an Approved Electrician to join their team on a contract basis. This role is focused on the delivery of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project within the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation of electrical containment systems including tray, ladder, basket, and conduit
- Pulling and dressing LV control, communication, and DC power cables
- Terminating DC battery cables and associated equipment
- Glanding and terminating small power and control cables
- Reading and working from electrical drawings and cable schedules
- Supporting pre-commissioning activities
- Identifying and reporting installation issues and non-conformances
- Ensuring all works are completed in accordance with site quality and safety requirements
Job Requirements:
- Experience as an Electrician or Electrical Technician on industrial, renewable energy, power generation, or utility projects
- Strong containment installation skills
- Experience pulling and dressing cables within large-scale electrical installations
- Proven experience terminating DC cables
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics
- Experience working safely within construction environments
Qualifications:
- ECS/JIB Gold Card preferred
- Relevant electrical qualifications (Level 3 or equivalent)
- IPAF desirable
- SSSTS desirable but not essential
- First Aid at Work desirable
