Power Electronics Engineer - Motor Control

We are looking for an engineer to help build the next generation of electric vehicle powertrain control and state estimation systems.

As a Power Electronics Engineer - Motor Control, you will design algorithms to control traction inverters and other high-voltage power electronics. Your algorithms will be implemented on custom-built Rimac hardware, and you will have the opportunity to test them on a testbench as well as validate them on a real vehicle.

1. Responsibilities
Developing control algorithms for electric vehicle powertrains
Developing state estimation algorithms for electric vehicle powertrains
Performing Model-in-the-Loop testing
Using optimization algorithms with test automation to quickly test multiple hypotheses and converge on an optimal solution
Defining and overseeing Hardware-in-the-loop and dyno testing
Analysis and interpretation of test data
Documenting test results and producing technical documentation

2. Requirements
Experience with Field-Oriented Control of synchronous machines
Experience with at least one commercial power electronics simulation package (e.g. Matlab/Simulink)
Advanced knowledge of classical and nonlinear control theory
Advanced knowledge of linear and nonlinear estimation techniques
Familiarity with basic concepts of digital signal processing
Good English in writing and speaking

3. Optional competencies
Model Predictive Control
Experience with PLECS
Model-based design in Matlab
