I am working with a family-run SME based in Hampshire to find a Junior Ecologist to join their team on a full-time permanent basis.


UK Driver License, Degree in a related subject, or equivalent, experience of Ecological Impact Assessments

The Job

As a Junior Ecologist you will be a key member of their Environment team, playing an integral role in the implementation of their Environmental Strategy. You will carry out ecological studies across a range of projects and environments, to identify and advise how together you can balance the needs of their projects with those of the environment. It is also extremely hands-on and will see you conducting ecological studies and impact assessments across a range of projects and environments.

Skills and experience:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team player but also with the ability to work autonomously
  • Protected species handling license(s) (ideally dormice, newts, bats) (desirable)
  • Degree in a related subject, or equivalent
  • Associate member of CIEEM (or they will support you to achieve this)
  • Highly organised and experience in data collection and technical report-writing
  • Full UK drivers license
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Some demonstrable skills in ecological survey.
