Introduction

Our client are a leading provider of systems engineering support to the Royal Navy. This is an exciting opportunity to join them at their Portsmouth site.

Strong systems engineering experience, knowledge of combat systems and electronics warfare (ew) systems

The Job

Key Accountabilities:

  • Act as a Combat System Engineer leading and directing on relevant technical matters relating to a range of Electronic Warfare equipments used as part of a Combat System;
  • Engaging with the NCSISS Technical Lead, other CSEs and PTP engineers:
  • Engage with customers, other stakeholders, and suppliers;
  • Work as part of a technical team in support of project objectives and contract deliverables in accordance with the Technical Delivery Plan;
  • Produce test plans, execute trial activities and conduct post-trial analysis;
  • Generate technical documentation including the Supporting Evidence for Certificate of Safe Integration;
  • Deliver work and reports on progress to more senior technical and project staff;
  • Conduct sea trials on Royal Navy Ships including potentially overseas;
  • Escalate significant problems and issues encountered to senior technical and project staff;
  • Accountable to the NCSISS Technical Lead within delegated technical activities. Accountable for any CSEs and Associate CSEs allocated within delegated technical activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Honours Degree in Engineering, Physics or similar. HNC/D Level qualification (or equivalent) may be accepted if accompanied with appropriate experience;
  • CEng (or equivalent)/ willingness to work towards
  • 7-10 years plus relevant experience in engineering or systems engineering;
  • Proven experience on Naval EW Systems and;
  • Awareness of Test & Evaluation or Integration.
