The Job
Our local authority client (based north of London) are looking to recruit a Bridge Engineer to work within their highways team. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long term contract with a busy authority, working on a diverse range of projects.
The role:
* Managing projects including preparation and control of budgets and programmes for design and construction work.
* Undertaking detailed design and preparation of contract documents for bridge maintenance and construction projects.
* Liaising with site supervision staff and contractors during construction to resolve queries and issues in a timely and cost-effective manner.
* Carrying out bridge inspections, preparing reports and updating inventory data to enable priorities and future programmes of work to be determined.
* Ensuring technical and design standards are met.
Person specification:
You will be a Bridge Engineer with experience of project management.
Competency with AutoCad and design/assessment software (GSA/MIDAS/LUSAS).
Recent, demonstrable experience in conducting assessments and designs of highway structures in various materials using Eurocodes and the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges.
Possess a full driving licence.

Initial 6 month contract (extensions to follow).
