Responsibilities include:
- Development of structures or mechanical products through the engineering lifecycle, compiling and presenting the required technical content for the design reviews and other appropriate reviews.
- Ownership of the product's verification matrix.
- Management of technical resource, across various disciplines, to deliver the scope of the project on time to cost.
- Provide own technical capability in a key area of the project.
- Author, review and, as appropriate, approve technical documentation in support of the product's development.
- Identification of tasks, effort and resource needed to deliver the project. Support the PM in creating and updating the project plan.
- Provide production support and resolve queries independently with own subject matter knowledge or with assistance from other functions.
- Investigation and disposition of failures and non-conformances, including proposing solution, containment, RCA & PCA.
- Technical POC for Supplier/s of the product.
Required skills:
- Confidently present to stakeholders external to the team and issuing technical documentation in a verbal or written format
- Understands fundamental Structural and Mechanical Design principles.
- Adept and responsive at problem solving throughout a product or technology's development to ensure applicable requirements and/or targets are met.
- Understands certification principles in consideration of a safe and airworthy design. Contributes to DfX activities, proving knowledge and understanding of various manufacturing methods.
- Able to effectively problem solve hardware issues throughout all stages of the life of the equipment; from prototype build issues through various stages of testing, into steady state production and in service use.
- Understands the importance of adequate requirement flowdown from customer specification to equipment level and is able to support in the creation of SMART requirements and the proposal of verification methods that meet the required certification standards.
- Able to define and plan a verification strategy, interpreting requirements and identifying verification methods, planning verification tests, collating non-test evidence and reporting.
- Understands the Engineering Development Lifecycle and the importance and operation of configuration control throughout the business.
- Confident at using MS Office productivity software.
- A degree in aeronautical, mechanical or equivalent appropriate experience.
