Job description

We have a requirement for a Field Service Engineer, homebased with a requirement to be based in the South within easy access of London and the surrounding areas.

Core responsibilities

  • Provide Field Service support to all Mobility products, in the London and surrounding areas
  • Carry out and disconnections at customer premises
  • To carry out diagnostics and repairs at customer premises
  • Carry out major unit exchanges at customer premises
  • Complete stocktakes in line with company plan
  • Complete reports and paperwork once assignment is finished, and submit as soon as convenient
  • Give assistance to sales staff on technical aspects of Voith Mobility products
  • Ensure all tooling and equipment is within calibration dates
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with customers and their representatives.
  • To seek and report on future business opportunities
  • Interface with Mobility Sales and commercial department to share field service opportunities to increase sales for Mobility
  • Work together with the customer to minimise downtime.
  • To report to the company any potential quality related issues noted during the work assignment
  • Carry out work within Voith Turbo Ltd workshop facilities as and when required.
  • To train other team members with product knowledge, where possible.
  • Occasionally work unsociable hours as requested and to fulfil the job requirements.
  • Liaise with Health & Safety, and Manager, on any issues arising in the day to day working at various premises
  • Represent Voith Turbo Ltd in a positive and professional manner.
  • Able to develop and maintain good working relationships with customers and their representatives.


Professional Experience & Education

  • Apprenticeship in Engineering required
  • Background in Service and Engineering essential
  • Strong experience in mechanical & electrical bias i.e. Commercial vehicles
  • Experience working in Field Service required
  • Must possess a strong analytical background in Hybrid and Electric vehicles
  • Diagnostic repair experience
  • Essential experience in building customer relationships.
  • Strong understanding of Health and Safety requirements
  • Full clean driving licence (The Employee warrants to the Employer that they hold a valid licence to drive motor vehicles and agrees that if they cease to hold a current driving licence the Employer may end this employment immediately without notice or payment in lieu of notice).

Package Details:-

  • Fixed Term Contract for 36 months
  • Company Vehicle
  • 36.5 working week; 08:30 - 16:30 (Additional hours may be required to meet customer requirements)
  • £42k - £47k (dependent on experience)
  • Annual Bonus (pro rata on year of joining)
