Job description

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ground Segment Systems Development Engineer to join our team in the European space industry. As the Technical Lead, you will be responsible for the development of Ground Segment systems for current and future satellite missions. You will play a key role in the design and implementation of systems used for the automated monitoring and control of spacecraft. Managing a team of developers, you will coordinate ground segment development activities with the customer and act as the main interface between the project team and stakeholders. Your strong leadership and technical expertise will ensure the successful completion of projects, meeting the defined tasks and technical objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the development of Ground Segment systems for satellite missions in the European space industry.
- Lead and manage a team of developers, coordinating ground segment development activities.
- Define tasks and technical objectives, providing effective leadership to the project team.
- Ensure the completion of projects within defined timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Act as the interface between customers, product owners, and the project team.
- Identify, assess, and manage risks to ensure project success.
- Prepare and maintain project and quality plans, providing regular and accurate reports to stakeholders.
- Communicate and coordinate project activities with the project team, partners, and subcontractors.
- Conduct quality reviews according to procedure and schedule.
- Manage project resources and costs.
- Ensure project deliverables are completed within planned parameters and signed off.
- Contribute your background skills, knowledge, and experience to project completion.

Skills and Experience:
Required:
- University degree in Computer Sciences, Software Engineering, or equivalent industrial experience.
- Minimum of five years of experience in ground segment development environment.
- Proven track record in project and risk management (minimum of three years).
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects and technical teams.
- Knowledge of space system engineering and design methodologies.
- Specific knowledge in the following space domains is a plus:
- EGS-CC system.
- SCOS-2000 mission control system.
- ECSS standards.
- CCSDS packet and MO standards.
- Strong understanding of software development technologies and architectures applicable to the ground segment.
- Ability to actively participate in technical discussions and drive solution-oriented processes.
- Proficient in writing technical documents, including user requirements, design documentation, and test documentation.
- Agile and flexible attitude with a rapid self-starting capability.
- Excellent communication skills, including presentation preparation and public speaking abilities.
- Strong multitasking and planning skills.
- Dynamic and proactive attitude with a commitment to ongoing development and product quality.
- Willingness to travel when required.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
