Job description
The Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer will report to and work closely with the IT Service Delivery Manager in aligning site priorities for implementation of the global IT strategy, advising on local security, compliance, or regulatory requirements along with any local challenges as identified.
Candidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes we deliver for our customers. SC/DV.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing daily IT support requests and issues, ensuring excellent customer service across the support team.
- Monitoring, maintaining, and upgrading core infrastructure including servers, networks, systems as identified and in-line with compliance and certification requirements. NIST, ISO27001, Cyber Essentials Plus etc.
- Diagnosing and resolving technical faults and problems.
- Delivering projects to improve IT services and systems.
- Ensuring robust IT security, data protection and compliance.
- Ensure Backup, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans are up to date, along with an annual "live" testing of the processes.
- Keeping abreast of technological advancements, advising on what new technological solutions are required and succession planning of technology implementations in place.
- Creating and submitting a proposal for the IT improvement and project requirements, annual budget for financial review, providing budget information from geographical locations for local IT spend requirements.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Information Systems, Business, etc. or equivalent experience.
- 5 years' experience.
- Strong ability to manage conflict resolution within direct team, cross-functionally and with external vendors.
- Experience working in a global environment.
- Exceptional knowledge of service and application delivery.
- Proven experience managing and developing IT support services.
- Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and service management methodologies.
- Office 365, Azure, Windows Server.
- Virtualisation (VMware - Hyper-V)
- SAN technologies
- Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2016-2022
- M365 / Microsoft Exchange, Intune, Autopilot, SCCM.
- Networking - TCP/IP, VLANs, switching, routing, firewalls.
Ability to obtain and maintain SC/DV level security clearance
