Role and Responsibilities
As a Control Systems Engineer, you will:

  • Lead the design and implementation of robust control systems architecture for marine engineering projects.
  • Evaluate and recommend innovative hardware and software solutions to optimize system performance in the maritime domain.
  • Implement security-focused design to protect critical maritime systems and data.
  • Ensure systems compliance with industry regulations and internal security policies relevant to marine engineering.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marine engineers and Naval Architects.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies to ensure scalability and security of systems in the marine engineering landscape.

Skills and Abilities
You should possess:

  • Proven application of Control System Engineering and System Engineering Processes and Practices.
  • Understanding of networking protocols, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in designing and implementing robust and scalable systems architecture.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • Experience in autonomous vehicle control or a comparable field.
  • Familiarity with hardware in the loop testing, simulation of embedded systems, SCADA, and PLC programming.
  • Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts effectively.
  • Proficiency in documentation for system configuration, processes, and procedures.
  • Project management skills to scope, plan, and manage complex projects.
  • Ability to mentor and contribute to the technical development of junior engineers.
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree (BEng, BSc) in a Numerate, Scientific, or Engineering subject or equivalent training and experience.
  • Ability to obtain SC level security clearance.
