Job description
What does the job involve?
As a Tooling & Maintenance Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in helping Ricardo achieve maximum facility availability and uptime. Working closely with the Process Engineering team and Production Manager, you'll focus on:
· Establishing and updating maintenance schedules and instructions under guidance
· Providing guidance and training on production integrated TPM tasks
· Conducting preventative maintenance and inspections
· Rapidly responding to equipment breakdowns to maintain production continuity
· Coordinating repair or replacement of tooling and equipment to minimize downtime
· Maintaining the Tooling Register to document failure and repair information
· Assisting process engineering with in-house design, fabrication, and prototyping
· Contributing to the commissioning, validation, and optimization of new equipment
What do I need to succeed?
To excel in this role, you'll have:
· An advanced understanding of manufacturing systems and processes
· An NVQ 3 or higher in a technical, mechanical and/or electrical qualification
· Hands-on experience with various production tooling, equipment, and machinery
· Proficient logical fault-finding abilities, especially under time constraints
· A commitment to the highest safety standards, exceptional communication skills across all levels, including computer literacy skills
