The Opportunity

You will be joining a growing team who are working to transform the way we work in this domain. You may be working on the integration of products onto UK Defence platforms (including Typhoon, F35 and Wildcat) or onto export platforms or you may be part of the element of Team TEMPEST influencing the next generation of UK combat aircraft. Your experience can have been gained within the defence industry, in the armed forces, in government or in wider industry.

Airborne Systems are part of the System Design division, that is responsible for designing and commissioning the hardware and software within the systems that launch, control and plan the operations of the company's existing products and the emerging products such as lasers.

Experience needed

Ideally qualified to degree-level or equivalent experience in a Physics or Engineering based subject, such as; Electronics, Hardware, Computer Science, Software or Systems Engineering etc.

  • The Systems Design Engineer will need great communication skills within the function to communicate with a multi-discipline engineering team (e.g. Systems, mechanical, electronics, software etc…)
  • Experience over the Full Systems Lifecycle
  • Systems Design experience
  • Understand and contribute to the key activities in the engineering development lifecycle.
  • Experience using DOORS

Desired Experience

  • Experience in the Defence / Aerospace or safety regulated environment would be advantageous.
  • Experience working on Airborne Systems.
